Troubleshooting Favade

Fix Favade launch issues, missing windows, D3D11/runtime errors, menu or ESP visibility problems, radar connection failures, and HWID questions.

Last updated: 2026-05-27

Work through these checks in order. The first fix for a no-launch or no-window problem is usually the Visual C++ runtime, not DirectX.

Program does not launch, or no window appears

  1. Install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 x64 runtime: direct x64 installer. Microsoft's official page is here: latest supported Visual C++ redistributables.
  2. Restart Windows after installing the runtime, then launch Favade again.
  3. Update your GPU driver from the vendor: NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel.
  4. Restart again after the driver update.
  5. If the file came in an archive, extract it before running. Do not run the executable from inside the archive viewer or a temporary folder.

D3D11 or DirectX errors

D3D11 itself is part of modern Windows. On Windows 10 and Windows 11, reinstalling DirectX is usually not the right first fix for a D3D11/no-window issue. Install the VC++ runtime first, then update the GPU driver.

The DirectX End-User Runtime is optional and secondary. It mainly installs older side-by-side libraries from the legacy DirectX SDK. It does not replace the core DirectX runtime that ships with Windows.

Menu does not open with F2

  1. Click inside the CS2 window and press F2 again.
  2. Check whether your keyboard requires Fn or function-lock for F-keys.
  3. Set CS2 to windowed or borderless windowed mode.
  4. Restart Favade after changing CS2 display mode.
  5. Update the GPU driver if the menu surface never appears.

Fullscreen is supported, but windowed or borderless windowed mode is the reliable baseline for troubleshooting menu and ESP visibility. See menu, ESP, and CS2 display mode.

ESP does not draw

  • Confirm CS2 is running and you are in a state where player data exists.
  • Open the Favade menu with F2 and confirm the relevant ESP elements are enabled.
  • Try windowed or borderless windowed mode.
  • Disable other overlays temporarily if they are competing for focus or draw order.
  • Restart Favade after CS2 has fully opened.

Browser radar does not connect

  • Confirm the Favade client is running and authenticated with your license.
  • Confirm the radar publisher is enabled in the menu.
  • Try a current Chrome, Edge, or Firefox browser.
  • Disable VPN or proxy routing temporarily if WebSocket connections fail.
  • Allow the client through Windows Firewall if Windows prompts for network access.
  • Refresh the browser radar after restarting the client.

License or HWID problems

If the license key is invalid, check for copied spaces and confirm you are using the key from your order page. If the license was already bound to another machine, open a Discord ticket for an HWID reset. The reset flow is explained in how HWID licensing works.

Platform or anti-cheat questions

If the problem only happens on a third-party platform, read anti-cheat, FACEIT, and platform support. Favade is built for normal CS2 environments such as Valve matchmaking and Premier. FACEIT with FACEIT Anti-Cheat enabled is unsupported.

Windows Security quarantine or SmartScreen

Only run builds downloaded from the Favade portal. If Windows quarantines the file, do not keep renaming and rerunning random copies. Open a ticket and include the exact Windows Security message or screenshot so support can identify what happened.

Still stuck? Open a ticket

Open a Discord ticket and include:

  • Windows version.
  • GPU model and driver version if you know it.
  • CS2 display mode: fullscreen, windowed, or borderless windowed.
  • What happens when you press F2.
  • Whether VC++ 2015-2022 x64 was installed and Windows was restarted.
  • Any error text, screenshot, or short screen recording.
  • Your license key last four characters only. Do not post the full key publicly.
